With preparations in full flight for the start of the Worcestershire Women’s Rapids season, the latest off-field addition to the side was confirmed just last week.
In a first of its kind partnership, 12-year-old business owner Matilda officially joined forces with the squad at the side’s recent media day and will have her products stocked in the newly refurbished club shop this season.
A passionate and ambitious entrepreneur, “Matilda Catherine” is the jewellery brand that the impressive youngster has grown over the last two years, catching the eye of those far and wide, including Worcestershire Women’s Rapids in more recent times.
Invited to visit the Club recently to learn more about the brand, an exciting new partnership quickly surfaced, as Matilda brought her collection down to New Road, where she not only met the Women’s Rapids playing squad, but donated a hand-crafted item of bespoke jewellery to each member of the team.
The eye-catching collection includes rings, bangles, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and charms.
All of the pieces designed are 24 carat gold plated, sourced in France and are sweat-resistant.
Club Partnerships Sales Manager, Bryony Harris, explained why the Club were so keen to support Matilda’s new venture.
“When we first heard about Matilda and her business, we were not only impressed, but very keen to help expand her platform.
“This is very much the first step in the Club working towards a more structured way of supporting and mentoring young entrepreneurs by leaning on our wide network of partners to support them.”
Matilda highlighted the importance of jewellery for women of all ages, with her passion to offer something for everyone the driving force behind her ambition.
“Jewellery represents a woman’s style and how they present themselves, which is why it is so important to me that I can offer products for women of all age ranges, styles and preferences.
“Being a young sports woman and business owner, the chance to work alongside Worcestershire County Cricket Club in both a business and people capacity is amazing!”
